A Guide for Parents about Good Sound Production
How
do I learn how to teach the sounds?
Most parents know their sounds, but the Demonstration section of the Sounds Like Fun! DVD explains and shows how the sounds are produced. Each sound is explained in terms of tongue, teeth, lips, and airflow, and then demonstrated by the student, Ian.
And, because it's a DVD, it's interactive. You can play just the sound you want to focus on; you can play the sound over and over: you don't have to go through the whole list of sounds to get (or get back) to the sound you want.
The Sound Demonstration section contains interactive demonstrations of each
sound, describing the actions necessary for proper sound production. Covers
17 consonant sounds and 6 digraphs: 2 letters that make 1 sound (ch, sh, voiced
th, zh, voiceless th, and ng).
